Technical preference cookie (Nothing Else Records)

We set a single first-party cookie with a strictly technical personalization purpose:

• lang_pref — persists the language preference you explicitly choose when clicking the language selector (EN/ES). Duration: 12 months (31,536,000 seconds). Attributes: SameSite=Lax, path=/. It contains no personal identifiers, is not shared with third parties and is not used for analytics, advertising or profiling.

Basis for the exemption from prior consent: Article 22.2 of Ley 34/2002 (LSSI-CE), as a personalization cookie actively selected by the user, in line with the Spanish Data Protection Agency’s (AEPD) Guía sobre el uso de las cookies (May 2024 edition, section on preference cookies). Beyond this language cookie, we do not set additional first-party cookies, tracking pixels, advertising tags or analytics with persistent identifiers. Fonts are self-hosted and third-party media players are not embedded on first load.

Infrastructure cookies (Cloudflare)

The website is served through Cloudflare, which may set the following strictly technical cookies to keep the service available and protected against abuse. They are set by the infrastructure provider, not by Nothing Else Records, and are not used for advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking.

• __cf_bm — Cloudflare Bot Management. Distinguishes humans from automated traffic. Duration: 30 minutes, renewed on activity.
• _cfuvid — may be set by Cloudflare only when specific Rate Limiting rules with unique-visitor identification are enabled. Purpose: distinguish visitors who share the same IP address for security and rate-limiting. Duration: as configured by Cloudflare for the active rule set.
• cf_clearance — set by Cloudflare when a visitor passes a security challenge (e.g. a managed challenge or Turnstile verification), so the challenge is not requested again on every subsequent request. Purpose: proof of a completed challenge; security only. Duration: typically up to 1 day, as configured by Cloudflare. Attributes: SameSite=None; Secure (and Partitioned where supported).

These cookies are documented as strictly necessary by Cloudflare in its official cookie documentation. This classification follows the criteria for security cookies (anti-bot, rate-limiting) set out in the Spanish Data Protection Agency’s (AEPD) Guía sobre el uso de las cookies (current edition, available at aepd.es) and broader European data-protection guidance, which recognize such cookies as strictly necessary when indispensable to deliver a service expressly requested by the user. Should the AEPD issue specific guidance reclassifying these cookies, this policy will be updated and consent mechanisms will be implemented before the website continues to be served via Cloudflare’s bot protection.

Other browser storage mechanisms

Beyond the technical preference cookie lang_pref described above, this website does not use browser session storage (sessionStorage), local storage (localStorage), browser databases (IndexedDB) or any other equivalent terminal-equipment mechanism for analytics, advertising, profiling or navigation control. If any additional browser storage is introduced in the future, this policy will be updated before activation.

Service Worker and Cache API

This website uses a service worker (sw.js) which stores in your browser, via the Cache API, technical copies of site resources (HTML, stylesheets, scripts, fonts, images and icons) for the strictly technical purpose of accelerating subsequent loads and enabling offline access to the site you have expressly requested. This storage relies on the exemption in Article 22.2 LSSI-CE (service explicitly requested by the user), contains no personal identifiers and is refreshed automatically with each new published version of the site. The Article 22.2 LSSI-CE exemption broadly covers «data storage and retrieval devices in terminal equipment», in line with the AEPD’s current guidance on technical exemptions.

You can remove this storage at any time from your browser’s privacy settings (under “Site data” or “Service workers”).

Why there is no consent banner

Article 22.2 LSSI-CE exempts strictly necessary cookies from prior consent when they are used solely to allow the communication over an electronic network or to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. The cookies and mechanisms described above fall within that exemption: infrastructure cookies (Cloudflare) are limited to infrastructure protection and session integrity; the preference cookie lang_pref is a personalization cookie activated solely by your explicit click on the language selector; the service worker provides a technical service expressly requested (acceleration and offline access). No other cookies are used, so no consent banner is required.

Audience measurement

No web analytics or audience-measurement tool is used — neither Cloudflare Web Analytics nor any equivalent — so no additional storage is set in your browser. Should it become necessary to measure site performance in the future, this would be done from aggregated server-side logs, which do not access your browser, and this page would be updated accordingly.

Browser controls

You can inspect and delete cookies from your browser’s privacy or storage settings. Most modern browsers also let you block third-party cookies or clear data on exit. Blocking the Cloudflare infrastructure cookies may reduce protection against abuse but does not prevent access to the site.
